Where is Meraki Nature Stay & Workshops located?

Meraki Nature Stay & Workshops is located in the peaceful village of Vodena Draga, in the beautiful countryside of central Croatia. We’re just 20 minutes from the city of Karlovac, 1 hour from Zagreb, and about 1 hour from the coast – and also not far from the breathtaking UNESCO world herritage Plitvice National Park.

We are surrounded by forest, light blue rivers and green hills.

Meraki is a place to reconnect with nature and yourself.

We currently offer five glamping tents and one wooden cabin, designed and built by Karl. They’re made with natural, local materials, chosen for their simplicity and connection to the surroundings.

Each accommodation offers space, privacy and calmth.

You won’t be on top of your neighbours — there’s plenty of space to breathe.

At the moment, we are building a brand-new sanitary building which will be ready for next season (2026), including warm indoor showers and multiple toilets. Currently, we offer outdoor cold showers and a shared compost toilet.

There is a shared kitchen equipped with everything you need for cooking.

All our glamping tents have the same interior: two adult beds, and — upon request — extra beds for children. The only difference is their location: one tent might be set higher on the hill, another in a more sheltered spot in the valley.

Absolutely! Meraki is a natural playground where children are free to explore, build huts and connect with the nature.

Please make sure to include the number of children in your booking, so we can prepare the right setup – our standard glamping tents come with two adult beds. Two extra children’s beds can be added. Please communicate this in your booking.

We are generally pet-friendly! However, please keep in mind that we live surrounded by nature – there are no fences and it’s not unusual for wild animals or stray dogs to pass through.

Your dog is welcome if it’s well-behaved and doesn’t disturb other guests, animals or the neighbouring environment. Just let us know before booking, and we’ll see what’s possible.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM, and check-out is before 10:00 AM.

No, everything is provided. Fresh towels and bed linen will be ready for you upon arrival. There is no extra cost for this.

The nearest small supermarket is just a 5-minute drive away. Each morning, a bakery truck also stops in the village with bread and pastries. On-site, we offer a selection of local products, and you can order breakfast with us or rent a picnic basket during your stay.

For more variety, larger supermarkets and local markets are within driving distance.

There’s no Wi-Fi on the property — and we like it that way. It’s a chance to switch off and enjoy a real break.

If you do need to get online, just ask — we have Wi-Fi at our home. Most guests also have good mobile data reception here.

Yes, we have a central fire pit where you can enjoy a cozy fire under the stars. We will provide a campfire (on request) and ask our guests not to do this without us.

During dry periods in summer, campfires can be restricted for safety reasons.

You can cancel your stay, but please note that 75% of the booking fee is nonrefundable.

We do offer the option to request a voucher for a future stay. For full details, please read our cancellation policy.

By car: We’ll send you a detailed route and GPS coordinates after your booking.

By public transport:

• The nearest FlixBus station is in Bosiljevo, about 10 km from us.

Some guests walk from there (approx. 1 hour), but we can arrange a pickup – just contact us in advance.

• There’s also a train station in Zvecaj (10 km away), which offers a direct connection from and to Zagreb.
