GETTING TO MERAKI NATURE CAMP

Getting to Meraki nature camp is simple, and there are a few options depending on how you’d like to travel. here’s a quick overview to help you plan your trip.

By air: the closest airport is Zagreb airport, about 45 minutes to an hour away. From the airport, you can rent a car from companies like Avantcar, Enterprise, Keddy by Europcar, Green motion, or Payless car rental.

By public transportation: you can take a train to Zvecaj or Karlovac. Zvecaj is about 30 minutes away. Karlovac is a larger station with more connections and is about 30 minutes from the camp.

If you prefer the bus, there’s a flixbus stop in Bosiljevo, just a 10-minute drive away, or in Karlovac, which has more frequent routes.

We can also arrange a pick up on request if you let us know in advance.

By taxi: Uber and Bolt work well throughout Croatia. if you’d like the number of a reliable local taxi driver, just ask us we have some recommendations.

By car: we’re located close to the main highway between Zagreb and the coast, making it an easy drive. Free parking is available on-site.

FOOD AND SUPPLIES

Even though we’re surrounded by nature, getting groceries and supplies is easy. Here’s what you need to know:

Mini Market in Jarce Polje – just 5 minutes away by car (less than 5 km), this small store has basic groceries like bread, pasta, drinks, fruit, and other essentials.

Larger Supermarkets – for a bigger selection, you can drive to Karlovac or Duga Resa, both around 30 minutes away. If you don’t mind a quick trip across the border, Slovenia also has larger supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl, which are less than 30 minutes away.

Local Markets – every Friday in Karlovac, there’s a lively market with fresh produce, cheeses, and homemade goods, and also a flea market with second-hand treasures.

Local Farms – we have a list of nearby farmers who sell seasonal products like salads, vegetables, goat cheese, eggs, honey, and more.

The Bread Truck – every morning between 7 and 8 am, a local bread truck drives through the village. Just wave to the driver from the street, and they’ll stop so you can buy freshly baked bread and pastries.

Emergency Kiosk at the Camp – at Meraki Nature Camp, we also have a small emergency kiosk stocked with commonly forgotten items and local goods like toothbrushes, tea, and olive oil. So if you realise you’ve left something behind, there’s often a solution right here.

If you’d rather not worry about groceries, we also offer breakfast, picknick and dinner on request.
Just let us know if you’d like us to prepare a meal during your stay.
